Kazakhstan’s Qorgau computer vision system is a significant step toward improving road safety and the efficiency of traffic police. Qorgau empowers traffic police officers to rapidly identify violations, and streamline the notification and collection of fines, so they can focus on improving traffic flow and safety. Innovative technologies were combined with updates to traffic regulations/policies and institutional collaboration built around a common vision to achieve tangible outcomes such as reduced congestion and pollution and improved traffic safety and revenue collection.
